Accessibility Statement
Last updated: October 2, 2025
Suranebot is committed to ensuring that its online platform and all associated digital services are accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability, technology, or circumstance. We believe that equal access to education is a foundational principle, and we actively work to remove barriers that may prevent full participation in our workshops, exercises, and collaborative tools.
Our Commitment
We strive to conform to recognized international accessibility standards and to continuously improve the experience for all users. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those affecting vision, hearing, mobility, speech, cognition, and language.
Accessibility is treated as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time implementation. We review our platform regularly and incorporate accessibility considerations into new feature development and design decisions.
Scope
This statement applies to all pages and features available at suranebot.info, including but not limited to:
The main platform interface and navigation. Workshop content pages, step-by-step assignment modules, and interactive exercises. Registration and account management flows. Contact and feedback forms. Downloadable or embedded learning materials.
Third-party services integrated into the platform, such as payment processors or embedded video providers, may not fall within the scope of this statement. We encourage users to review the accessibility statements of those providers directly.
Known Limitations
While we work diligently toward full conformance, some areas of the platform may not yet meet all WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria. Known limitations include:
Interactive Exercises
Certain interactive components used in practical exercises may have limited keyboard navigability or incomplete ARIA labelling. We are actively working to remediate these elements in upcoming development cycles.
Legacy Content
Some older instructional documents or embedded resources may not fully conform to current accessibility standards. These materials are being reviewed and updated as part of a scheduled content audit.
Third-Party Embeds
Video content or tools provided through third-party integrations may not support all assistive technologies. Where possible, we provide transcripts, captions, or alternative formats.
Supported Technologies
Our platform is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies and environments:
| Technology Type | Examples | Support Level |
|---|---|---|
| Screen readers | NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack | Targeted support |
| Keyboard-only navigation | Standard keyboard input without mouse | Targeted support |
| Browser zoom | Up to 200% zoom without loss of functionality | Targeted support |
| High contrast modes | Operating system and browser contrast settings | Partial support |
| Voice control | Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Voice Control (macOS/iOS) | Partial support |
We recommend using an up-to-date version of a modern browser for the best experience. Older browsers may not render all accessibility features correctly.
Accessibility Features
Visual Design
Text and background colour combinations throughout the platform are selected to maintain sufficient contrast ratios in accordance with WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.3. Text does not convey meaning through colour alone.
Text and Readability
Content is written in plain language wherever possible. Users can resize text using standard browser controls without loss of content or functionality. Line spacing and paragraph structure are designed to support readability.
Navigation
All pages include a logical heading hierarchy. Navigation landmarks and ARIA roles are used to help screen reader users orient within the page. Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements.
Forms and Inputs
All form fields include associated labels. Error messages are descriptive and identify the specific field requiring attention. Required fields are clearly indicated.
Images and Media
Informational images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked to be ignored by assistive technologies. We aim to provide captions for video content where applicable.
Requesting Accessible Content
If you require content in an alternative format, such as a plain text version of a document, an audio description, or a different layout for a specific module, please contact us directly. We will make reasonable efforts to provide an accessible version within a timely manner.
Requests can be submitted by email at [email protected] or by telephone at +1 519 741 2600.
Feedback and Complaints
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our platform. If you encounter a barrier, experience difficulty accessing any part of the service, or believe that a particular page or feature does not meet the accessibility standards described in this statement, we want to hear from you.
Please provide as much detail as possible when reporting an issue, including the page URL, the assistive technology you are using, a description of the barrier, and any error messages encountered. This information helps us investigate and address the issue effectively.
You may contact us through the following channels:
Email: [email protected]
Phone: +1 519 741 2600
Postal address: 1039 Chiefswood Rd, Ohsweken, ON N0A 1M0, Canada
We aim to acknowledge all accessibility-related inquiries within five business days and to provide a substantive response within twenty business days. Where a complaint cannot be resolved to the satisfaction of the user, we will explain the reasons and, where appropriate, suggest alternative means of accessing the relevant content or service.
Formal Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may escalate the matter to an appropriate oversight body or regulatory authority in your jurisdiction. We do not limit or discourage users from exercising any rights they may have under applicable law.
Ongoing Improvements
Accessibility improvement is an iterative process. We conduct periodic internal reviews to identify and prioritize barriers for remediation. When significant updates are made to the platform, accessibility testing is incorporated into the release process.
We are committed to training our development and content teams on accessible design practices and to maintaining awareness of evolving standards and user needs.
Technical Approach
The platform is built using semantic HTML to ensure that structure is conveyed to assistive technologies. Where custom interactive components are used, ARIA attributes are applied to supplement native semantics. We test our implementation using both automated scanning tools and manual evaluation with assistive technologies.
Our target conformance level is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We reference the Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) 1.2 specification for guidance on dynamic and interactive components.
